Here for sale we have a Santa Cruz D-12 Fret Electro Acoustic Guitar in Natural Gloss finish. Hand built by the master luthiers in Santa Cruz California at the start of the millennium, this guitar features a set neck construction comprising of a Old Growth Sitka Spruce top which features, a handcrafted rosette made out of individual pieces of Maple and Ebony to construct the ‘Cowboy Rope’ style pattern, this same process is also used for the inlay around the body with the ivoroid purfling. On the back of the body a ‘Zipper’ inlay runs seamlessly down the centre which is also comprised of individual pieces of Maple and Ebony. The Solid Mahogany back and sides have been hand selected, this along with the 19-fret Solid Ebony fingerboard and bridge shows the care and attention that has been lavished into this excellent instrument. Featured on this guitar is a set of nickel Waverly open gear tuners and a Fishman Ellipse Blend Pickup and preamp system.
The Mahogany ‘Round’ profile neck sits comfortably in the hand, and with its satin finish provides a smooth and effortless surface to navigate up and down the neck. The 14” radius and 1.925” nut width allow for easy fretting in any register, whilst lending itself to chordal playing and finger picking styles in any register, and with the Ebony fingerboard adds a luxurious and opulent surface under the fingers. The Dreadnought body shape feels comfortable in the arms providing a connected feeling when playing, whilst the smooth lines of the body ensure this instrument is comfortable and practical to play in seated or standing positions.
The all solid construction allows the wood to resonate clearly, the Mahogany back and sides provide a deep, rich and warm voicing with a defined low end, and smooth midrange. The Old Growth Sitka Spruce top and hand tuned X-bracing ensures increased bass response, while the top voicing and 4-1/4 inch sound hole size combine to achieve great presence in all ranges. This eliminates the tendency of the traditional dreadnought towards boominess at the expense of midrange and treble. The Fishman Ellipse Blend preamp offers superb amplified sound, blending an under-saddle piezo with a condenser mic, allowing you to balance between the two to suit any playing situation. The D-12’s sheer volume, complexity, and incredible sustain make it a truly inspiring stage partner.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. A light mark is apparent to the top treble side edge, visible from the front face. Light markings are present on the inside of the treble side headstock slot where the string has come into contact with the finish.
Neck: All aspects of the neck and fingerboard demonstrate excellent condition.
Body: A repaired crack is apparent to the bass side of the body. We have ensured this mark is now only cosmetic and does not affect structure. Some light scratching is apparent surrounding the repair. Otherwise the body of the guitar demonstrates very good condition with minimal markings.
Condition of Frets:
This guitar has had a fret level and re-crown to ensure the best playability. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
