Here for sale we have a Fender Master Series Flame Standard in Sunburst finish. Built in Japan circa.1980’s, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Alder body with a carved Maple top, Maple neck and 22 Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is equipped with Nickel hardware including a Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece along with Fender sealed tuning machines. The Pickups are a pair of Fender Schaller humbuckers ,these are wired to a 3-way selector, bridge volume and tone and a neck volume and a neck tone control.

The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the profile resembling a ‘C’ filling the hand without feeling too cumbersome, providing a smooth and articulate playing experience. The Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers and provides a smooth playing surface for the user to explore, along with the 12” radius and Jumbo frets making bending and vibrato techniques a breeze. The contour body design feels great in the arms, whilst the double cutaway body design provides the player with unobstructed access to the higher register, great for those high end lead lines.

The Fender Schaller humbucker in the neck position sounds thick and full, with a rich low end great for rhythm tonalities. The middle position provides a punchy, tight midrange great for chordal styles of playing whilst being able to cut through a mix. TheFender Schaller humbucker in the bridge position produces a clear and articulate top end, balancing very well with a punchy output, providing a great feel and clarity, allowing the player to achieve a wide variety of tones all at the fingertips.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall good condition. Light scratching is present to all surfaces of the headstock, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable across the top of the rear face. Light denting which has broken the finish is present to the top side edge and treble side edge. This does not affect the structure of this guitar.

Neck: Overall good condition. Light denting is present to the fingerboard, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable above the 12th fret and can not be felt in playing position. Light denting - some of which has broken the finish - is present to the rear of the neck, most noticeably to the centre. This can be felt under the finger in the playing position. A crack to the finish is present to the heel of the neck. This does not flex under pressure and therefore causes no structural concerns.

Body:The front face presents light scratching and denting which has broken the finish. Most noticeably to the lower bout of the front face. Heavy denting and scratching is present to all other surfaces of the body, most noticeably to the rear face and lower bout side edge.
