Here for sale we have a Washburn SHB60 Stu Hamm "The Hammer" Signature in Tobacco Burst Sparkle. Built in Indonesia in 2013, this bass features a bolt-on neck construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard with “Yin Yang” Bass Clef inlays. This instrument is fitted with a Buzz Fieten tuning system and all black hardware. The pickups installed are Active J & MM style in the neck and bridge respectively, as well as individual Piezo bridge pickups. These are wired to a Master Volume, Master Tone, Pickup Blend & Piezo Volume.
The Maple neck plays very well, with the neck's profile feeling substantial enough to sit comfortably in the hand but slim enough to quickly traverse the neck when needed. The double cutaway and contoured body gives easy accessibility to the upper frets, ensuring every note of the 2 octave per string range is playable. The satin finish on the back of the neck feels sleek in the hand, further ensuring smooth navigation around the neck's 24 frets. The Rosewood fretboard provides a solid playing surface and its 12” radius provides a nicely flat surface, ideal for complex bass runs and octave lines.
Amplified, the versatile combination of 2 classic bass pickups, a Piezo and tone control knobs can deliver an array of classic tones. With smooth, rounded low end tones, perfect for the deep sub levels of Dub and R&B; A clear, forward low-mid range, ideal from everything from Funk to Rock and a biting treble response suited to 80s Metal and beyond at your disposal, with addition blending and in between sounds available using the on board controls, the tones this bass is capable of leaves little to desire tonally.
