Here for sale we have a Warwick Corvette Standard electric bass guitar in Natural Oil finish. Warwick was founded in 1982 in Germany, and has since developed a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and quality, unique aesthetics, exotic wood selection and distinctive tone. Warwick also operates under carbon neutral principles, purchasing wood from sustainable sources and generating all of its own electricity from waste wood powered boilers, rooftop solar panels and its own natural gas powered plant.

This Corvette Standard was made in Germany in 2006 and features a bolt-on construction comprising a Swamp Ash body, Ovangkol neck and 24 fret Wenge fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a 4-saddle fully adjustable bridge and stop tailpiece and Warwick sealed tuning machines. A pair of MEC 'Dynamic Correction' passive single-coil pickups are installed, and are wired to an on-board passive preamp with controls for master volume, pickup pan & master tone.

The Ovangkol neck plays superbly well, with the Warwick neck profile feeling somewhat like a 'D' shape. The profile is fairly substantial, but with the slightly flattened area to the centre rear encouraging ergonomic thumb positioning, it's easy to reach notes across the register. Paired with generous double-cutaway body design and sculpted neck heel, the full range of the instrument is easily accessible. The Ovangkol of the neck is reminiscent of Roasted Maple, and with its oiled finish is pleasant under the thumb. The Wenge of the fingerboard is characteristic of Warwick and provides a tactile yet durable playing surface.

The Warwick sound is well known for its deep growl, and the tonewood selection helping to secure a reputation amongst players for a versatile yet distinct tone that will stand out from the crowd. There are of course plenty of deep, rumbling lows which will fill out the band mix, whilst the punchy mids and sparkling top end help to create a driving sound and sense of urgency by capturing the attack of your playing. The on-board controls offer comprehensive tonal opportunities whilst maintaining a simple and non-intrusive character on the playing experience.
