Here for sale we have a Warwick Corvette Standard Fretless 4-String Electric Bass in Natural finish. Made in Germany in 1999, this bass consists of a Bubinga body, a Wenge neck, and a 24-fret fretless Ebony fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a 4-saddle fully adjustable bridge and stop tailpiece and Warwick sealed tuning machines. A pair of MEC 'Dynamic Correction' passive single-coil pickups are installed, and are wired to an on-board active preamp with controls for master volume, pickup pan, bass, treble, and middle.
The Wenge neck plays superbly well, with the Warwick neck profile feeling somewhat like a 'D' shape. The profile is fairly substantial, but with the slightly flattened area to the centre rear encouraging ergonomic thumb positioning, it's easy to reach notes across the register. Paired with generous double-cutaway body design and sculpted neck heel, the full range of the instrument is easily accessible. The Ebony of the fingerboard is characteristic of Warwick and provides a tactile yet durable playing surface.
The Warwick sound is well known for its deep growl, and the tonewood selection helping to secure a reputation amongst players for a versatile yet distinct tone that will stand out from the crowd. There are of course plenty of deep, rumbling lows which will fill out the band mix, whilst the punchy mids and sparkling top end help to create a driving sound and sense of urgency by capturing the attack of your playing. The on-board controls and active 3-band EQ offer comprehensive tonal opportunities whilst maintaining a simple and non-intrusive character on the playing experience.
