Here for sale we have a Vox L.S.60 Line Source Column 4x12” speaker cabinets in original Black Tolex. Made in the United Kingdom circa.1969, the Vox L.S.60 was designed to supplement the existing range of speakers from Vox offering a louder tonal spectrum to the ever growing demand of live music.
Introduced in August 1965, the Line Source 60 columns were designed to fill a fairly obvious gap in the Vox line - a set (pair) of directional public address speakers capable of handling the power of the 100 watt Vox PA amplifiers. Used by bands such as The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks etc, these unusual 4x12” cabinets provided the user ‘ease of transport’ due to their slim vertical nature, boasting four Celestion G12S T1252 speakers the L.S.60 offered a warm but diverse tonal sound scape, enhancing any amplifier that they are plugged into, with a warm depth that will easily cut through the mix.

These amplifier cabinets present good condition, the cabinets have been professionally tested and are in full working order. The tolex, grill cloth and shells to both of the cabinets displays light to mild scratching, indentations, scuffs, and discolouration, this is common with amplifier cabinets of this age. The original outputs for both of the cabinets have been replaced with ¼” mono input jacks by a previous owner allowing them to be plugged straight into an amplifier head. The cables for both of the input cables have had previous work done to them to ensure their functionality, displaying electrical tape in certain areas. One original Vox amp cover is included and a no brand cover is also included. Both of the cabinet covers display moderate signs of use.
