Here for sale we have a Tokai LS-129 Love Rock in Vintage Violin finish. Made in Japan in 2019, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with Faber Aged hardware including a TOM style bridge and tailpiece, along with Nickel finished vintage-style tuning machines with Kluson-style tulip buttons. A pair of IronGear Blues Engine humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, independent volume and tone controls & a master coil-split toggle switch.
The vintage style Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile that might be described as a ‘U’ shape filling the hand nicely for a comfortable grip when chord playing, without being so big as to feel cumbersome. This allows for fast and articulate playing, with easy reach across the register. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant to the touch, and with its traditional 12" radius strikes a perfect balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for string bending and lead lines. The smooth lines of the LP body are as comfortable in the arms as ever, working great in seated and standing positions.
The pair of IronGear Blues Engine humbucking pickups sound balanced, with the bridge position delivering a hot and full-bodied tone which works well for bluesy rock riffs and rhythm parts. The neck pickup sounds clear & round, making big chords shimmer & delivering plenty of power for lead lines and solos. The low end is full and powerful, the highs are crisp and detailed and there’s an upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords. The control layout is simple yet comprehensive, with the addition of the master coil split adding the opportunity for more single-coil style sounds or a nice drop in gain for the verse section of the song.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light to mild scratching, indentation and chipping of the front face is visible under close scrutiny and direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable near the ‘B’ tuning post and the bass side front edge near the 6th E tuner.
Neck: Overall excellent condition. Light indentation in the early register of the rear of the neck is very lightly felt under the thumb, but does not impact the overall playability of the instrument. Any markings to the fingerboard are difficult to discern.
Body: Overall very good condition. Light to mild indentation to the front face is present around the lower bout and at the bass side of the neck pickup.The most notable mark is present at the bass side lower bout, and has been drop filled by a previous owner to mask the damage. Very light scratching to all aspects of the body is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. At the bass side of the neck pickup, the lower screw has been replaced. Upon inspection under the pickup ring, it is apparent that a piece of the original screw is stuck in the hole. The new screw has been installed at an angle to avoid the original, and has traveled through into the neck pickup cavity. Please inspect the listing photos for a clear view of the issue.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included.
Hardware: Fully functional. The bridge and tailpiece have been replaced with aged Faber parts. The original parts are not included. The neck pickup ring has been replaced, evidenced by its slightly different colour. This ring does not sit perfectly flush to the body, and has moderate markings at the bass side lower corner, likely from a slipped screwdriver.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm

Electrics:
Fully functional. A previous owner has replaced the pickups with a pair of IronGear Blues Engine humbuckers, and installed a coil-split mini-toggle. The original pickups are not included.
