Here for sale we have a Tokai AST96 Electric Guitar in Ocean Turquoise Metallic finish. Made in Japan in 2016, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 21 Vintage fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted, including a 6-Saddle ST-VK2 tremolo bridge and a set of Gotoh Vintage 6-In-Line tuning machines. A trio of Fender Standard Strat single-coil pickups are installed, and are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume neck tone and middle tone controls.
The Maple neck plays very well, with a 60’s Medium profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial grip when chord playing, yet remaining slim enough for fast articulate lead lines. The Gloss finish to the rear of the neck is pleasant to the touch, and assists with smooth and speedy navigation of the 25.5" scale. The Rosewood fingerboard has a nice tight grain, and with its 9.5" radius provides a smooth, durable and practical surface for a wide variety of playing styles and techniques. This is enhanced by the Medium sized frets, which encourage faster playing whilst improving the feel of string bending and vibrato techniques.
The trio of Tokai ST-Vintage MK single-coil pickups installed in this guitar deliver traditional Strat tones in spades, with 5-way switching and comprehensive controls providing the wide range of versatile tones that S-Style guitars are famous for. The neck is warm and round whilst providing all the power required to push your solos to the front of the mix. The middle position is well suited to funky clean tones, whilst the bridge delivers a searing output for rocking riffs and that classic S-Style 'Twang'.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the headstock display light signsof past use.
Neck: Overall excellent condition. Any markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern.
Body: Overall very good condition. Mild indentations can be seen to the treble side lower bout edge, these have racked the lacquer finish but do not expose the wood. A small indentation is present to the front face bass side of the neck pickup, this has lightly pierced the lacquer finish and can be seen under close scrutiny. A mild chip to the finish can be seen to the tremble side of the neck pocket, this has exposed the wood beneath. A light indentation is present to the front face lower bout, this has pierced the lacquer finish but does not expose the wood beneath. The treble side lower bout demonstrates an indentation that has marked but not removed the finish.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5mm hex) is included.
Hardware: Overall excellent condition. Light tarnishing is present to all aspects of the metal hardware, with this the most apparent can be seen to the tuning machines and bridge with mild oxidation being seen to the low E saddle. Tremolo arm included.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
