Here for sale we have a Taylor Academy 12e electro-acoustic guitar in Satin Natural finish. Made in Mexico in 2022, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Solid Sitka Spruce top, Layered Sapele back and sides, Maple neck and 20 fret West African Crelicam Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. A set of Chrome sealed tuning machines are fitted, with a Nubone nut and Micarta saddle. An undersaddle piezo pickup is fitted, and is wired to Taylor's ES-B preamp, which features discreet shoulder-mounted controls for master volume and tone, as well as an on-board tuner. 
 
The Maple neck plays very well, with Taylor's signature neck profile feeling particularly comfortable in the hand and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning in all registers. The profile could be described as a very soft 'V' shape, which is often favoured by fingerstyle players. The Satin finish to the rear is pleasant to the touch and assists with smooth navigation of the 24.875" scale. The contoured edge of the lower bout enhances comfort for the strumming hand, and means that long gigs and practice sessions are a breeze. 
 
The voice of the Taylor Academy 12e is nicely balanced thanks to the compact Grand Concert body shape. The smaller body reduces the 'boominess' of the bass response, whilst the Sitka Spruce top adds plenty of brightness and articulation, meaning that both strumming and fingerstyle playing sound fantastic on this guitar. The addition of the undersaddle and ES-B preamp provide the versatility required for live and recording situations, with the convenience of an on board tuner too.
