Here for sale we have a Taylor 814ce Electro-Acoustic Guitar in Gloss Natural finish. Made in the USA in 2015, this beautiful instrument is from the top end of Taylor's range, and features an all-solid bolt-on construction comprising a Sitka Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, Tropical Mahogany neck and 20 fret Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound in Maple, with attractive multi-stripe purfling, Abalone rosette & a Rosewood pickguard. The Maple binding continues along the neck and around the headstock, which itself is overlaid with Ebony to match the fingerboard & bridge. The headstock logo & fingerboard inlays are made from mother of Pearl, and complete a beautifully made & impeccably appointed instrument. This guitar is also equipped with Taylor's Expression System 2 undersaddle piezo pickup, with shoulder mounted controls for volume, treble & bass.
The Tropical Mahogany neck plays fabulously, with Taylor's ever-popular neck profile sitting comfortably in the hand and providing a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. The profile might be described as a rather slim 'C' shape which encourages ergonomic thumb positioning and easy reach across the fretboard. The smooth finish to the rear of the neck assists with navigation of the 25.5" scale, whilst the venetian cutaway enhances access to the upper frets. The Ebony of the fingerboard is supremely luxurious to the touch, and with its 15" radius ensures practicality for a wide range of playing styles and techniques.
The Sitka Spruce top offers a nice warm tone, much like Cedar but with a slightly brighter top end, while still articulating very well. The Indian Rosewood back and sides compliment this perfectly, giving the guitar a smooth transient response while still producing a wide & sensitive dynamic range. The Taylor ES-2 preamp system faithfully conveys the acoustic voice of the instrument whilst offering plenty of scope for tonal shaping; perfect for any playing situation you might find yourself in. This is a beautiful instrument which exemplifies why Taylor have become a household name over the last 50 years.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. A finish repair is present to the front face top edge from a previous owner, with scratching & glue residue surrounding the repair.
Neck: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the neck and fingerboard display light signs of past use.
Body: Overall very good condition. A light indentation to the front face is present to the bass side lower bout, seen under direct light. This has not pierced the finish. Very light indentation to the rear face is visible under direct light, consistent with light playwear.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting and flattening of the frets is apparent to the treble side of the early register, improving as you climb past the 5th fret. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (7mm socket) not included.
