Here for sale we have a Taylor 314ce LTD Limited Edition electro-acoustic guitar in Shaded Edgeburst finish. Made in the USA in 2021, this guitar features an all-solid bolt-on construction comprising a Torrefied Spruce top, Quilted Sapele back & sides, Tropical Mahogany neck & 20 fret West African Crelicam Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound in black, whilst the top is adorned with multi-stripe purfling & rosette, as well as a tortoiseshell pickguard. The headstock is overlaid with more Crelicam Ebony, and is inlaid with a handsome victorian design in Italian acrylic, matching the fingerboard position markers. A Micarta saddle is fitted, along with a Black Tusq nut, as well as a set of Black sealed Taylor machine heads. Taylor's Expression System 2 electronics are installed, with shoulder mounted controls for volume, bass & treble.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with Taylor's 'Standard Carve' neck profile filling the hand nicely for a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. The profile might be described as a moderately-sized 'C' shape, well suited to a wide range of playing styles and genres. The Ebony of the fingerboard is dark in appearance, and with a nice tight grain adds a sense of luxury to the playing experience, which is nicely accentuated by the handsome fingerboard inlays. The traditional Taylor 15" radius is practical for both melodic and chordal playing styles, whilst the smooth lines of the Grand Auditorium body are comfortable in both standing and seated positions.
The acoustic voice of the Taylor 314ce LTD is nicely balanced. It delivers plenty of warmth and character thanks to it's large stature as a Grand Auditorium body, whilst the fine selection of tonewoods that have been used in its construction add both depth & sparkling top end to the sound. The low end is warm & gentle without being too soft, whilst the mid range is open & clear. The Torrefied Spruce top adds some characteristic Taylor top end without being too bright, as well as projecting very well for plenty of dynamic range. Taylor's excellent ES2 system faithfully conveys the acoustic voice of the instrument as always. A typically well made & handsomely appointed instrument from Taylor.
