Here for sale we have a Taylor 212ce Grand Concert electro-acoustic guitar in Matte Natural finish. Introduced in 2023 as an expansion to the 200 series, the 212ce is a Grand Concert size - slightly smaller than the Grand Auditorium size typical of Taylor- and sporting a slightly shorter scale length of 24.875". Made in Mexico in 2025, this instrument features a bolt-on construction comprising a Solid Torrefied Spruce top, Layered Walnut back & sides, Neo-Tropical Mahogany neck & 20 fret West African Crelicam Ebony fingerboard. A white Micarta saddle is fitted, along with a White NuBone nut & Chrome sealed Taylor tuning machines. This guitar is equipped with Taylor's Expression System 2 behind-the-saddle piezo pickup & preamp system, with shoulder mounted controls for master volume, bass & treble.
The Neo-Tropical Mahogany neck plays fabulously, with Taylor's ever-popular 'Standard Carve' neck profile sitting comfortably in the hand and providing a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. The profile might be described as a rather slim 'C' shape which encourages ergonomic thumb positioning and easy reach across the fretboard. The smooth finish to the rear of the neck assists with navigation of the 24.875" scale, whilst the venetian cutaway enhances access to the upper frets. The Ebony of the fingerboard is supremely luxurious to the touch, and with its 15" radius ensures practicality for a wide range of playing styles and techniques.
The acoustic voice of the Taylor 212ce is bright and clear, with an unpronounced yet accurate low end, strong mid response and sparkling trebles which add a shimmer and chime to every note played on the instrument. The Grand Concert body design delivers the best of both large and compact bodies; sizable enough to produce a powerful and clear voice whilst remaining small enough to be comfortable in the arms. The Solid Torrefied Spruce top projects beautifully and offers a wide dynamic range, whilst producing a warmer & more refined tone than a typical un-aged Spruce top. Taylor's Expression System 2 faithfully conveys the acoustic voice of the instrument, providing the versatility required for both live and recording situations.
