Here for sale we have a Dealer Select Suhr Classic S electric guitar in black finish. Suhr guitars are the work of John Suhr, who started his career as a guitar technician at Rudy's Music Stop in NYC. He began building guitars in 1974; creating Mark Knopfler's famous signature model under the Pensa-Suhr name in 1984. After a brief stint as a senior master builder in the Fender Custom Shop from '95 to '97, JS Technologies (Suhr Guitars) was founded in 1997, growing into the world renowned high-end instrument brand we know today. 
 
Made in the USA in 2022, this instrument features a bolt-on construction comprising a 2-piece Alder body, Roasted Maple neck and 22 fret Indian Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a Gotoh 510 2-point tremolo bridge and Suhr Staggered Locking tuning machines. A trio of Suhr pickups are installed in an HSS configuration, with a Thornbucker Plus in the bridge and ML Standard single coils in the neck and middle positions. These are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume, neck/middle tone and bridge tone controls. 
 
The Roasted Maple neck plays astonishingly well, with the 'Even C Medium' profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial grip whilst remaining slim enough for fast and articulate playing. Certainly, the neck feels supremely comfortable and practical in all registers, whilst the Satin finish to the rear ensures that navigation of the 25.5" scale is an absolute breeze. The Indian Rosewood fingerboard is luxurious under the fingers, and with a 9"-12" compound radius is tailored to the needs of the player at all times. It's rounder in the lower register for chord playing and transitions smoothly to a flatter surface as you climb the neck, perfect for solos and lead lines. The Medium Stainless Steel frets enhance the feel of vibrato and string bending techniques whilst also being more durable than traditional Nickel frets. 
 
Amplified, this guitar produces classic S style tones with plenty of extra grunt from the humbucker in the bridge. The Pete Thorn signature Thornbucker in the bridge position delivers thick and full-bodied tones akin to a PAF type humbucker, but with a dash of modern refinement for the contemporary guitarist. It's overwound for a higher output and can handle all of the gain that you could possibly need, saturating into a searing distortion tone when needed and offering a bright, glassy clean sound with subtler amp settings. The ML Standard single coils in the neck and middle positions deliver crisp and clear sounds, perfect for lead lines, solos or even funky rhythm parts. A typically beautifully crafted, well appointed and incredible-playing instrument from Suhr.
