Here for sale we have a Rickenbacker 4003 Electric Stereo Bass in Fireglo finish. Made in the USA in 2004, this guitar features a neck-thru construction comprising a 2-piece Maple neck, Maple body and 20 fret lacquered Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Schaller machine heads, a V2 bridge, and a RIC tailpiece. A pair of Rickenbacker single-coil pickups are fitted, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, independent volume and tone controls and a push/pull bass cut circuit on the treble tone knob.
The Maple neck plays very well, with what might be described as a shallow 'D' profile that provides a comfortable flattened area to the centre for the thumb to rest. The lacquered Rosewood fingerboard offers a smooth and durable playing surface that is pleasant under the fingers. It's 10" radius ensures practicality for fast lines and string bending techniques, perfect for the modern player. The large cutaways work in conjunction with the neck-thru construction to provide uninhibited access to the upper register, whilst the smooth lines of the body and ergonomic contours enhance comfort on long gigs.
Amplified, The pair of single coil pickups deliver a versatile yet instantly recognisable tone. The neck pickup sounds full and warm whilst retaining an impressive level of detail. The bridge pickup provides a throaty and powerful midrange, with plenty of snappy high frequencies that will ensure you can cut through any mix. The controls really allow you to dial the contrast of the pickups to taste, working very well across an array of genres. An iconic bass with a raft of great sounds to play with.

Light indentations and scratching to all aspects of the headstock are visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes.
Neck: Overall very good condition. Light indentations are present to the rear of the neck across the register, lightly felt in the playing position but not breaking the finish. Light markings are present to the early register bass side of the fingerboard, consistent with the strings touching the fingerboard.
Body: Overall very good condition. Some of the binding is missing to the front face treble side lower bout between the output jack and lower strap button, leaving a section of exposed wood. A mild indentation is present to the front face on the upper horn. Light scratching to all aspects of the body is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable to the centre of the rear face consistent with buckle rash.
