Here for sale we have a PRS S2 Standard 24 electric guitar in Vintage Cherry finish. Made in the USA in 2015, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted including a PRS vintage-style 6-point tremolo bridge & PRS S2 locking tuning machines. A pair of PRS-Designed passive humbucking pickups are installed, with a HFS Treble in the bridge & HFS Vintage in the neck. These are wired to a 3-way blade switch, master volume and master tone controls, with a master push/pull coil split on the tone knob. 
 
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with PRS' Pattern Regular profile filling the hand comfortably for a substantial yet articulate grip across the register. There is plenty of character on offer, inspiring confidence when playing rhythm parts and riffs. This is combined with the ability to reach big stretches and play fast lines and solos with ease. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, delivering a playing surface which feels both luxurious and tactile. With its 10" radius, the surface is well set up for both lead and rhythm playing, facilitating large bends, fast playing and comfortable chording in equal measure. 
 
The pair of PRS-designed passive humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones, with plenty of switching options to ensure versatility. The HFS Vintage in the neck position is warm and round, and delivers plenty of power to push those lead lines and solos to the front of the mix. The HFS Treble in the bridge is brighter, and can handle serious amounts of gain for a saturated rhythm guitar sound on your riffs and power chords. With the addition of the push/pull coil-split function there are plenty of options for sonic control whilst keeping the switching layout simple.

    Aesthetic Condition:

    Headstock: Overall very good condition. The bass side rear tip shows a moderate chip which reveals the wood. A smaller chip is present at the treble side rear tip. On the top edge, a mild indentation is present towards the bass side. At the rear where the guitar would make contact with a hanger there is light wear to the finish on both sides. Light scratching to the front face is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. 

     

    Neck: Overall excellent condition. Light to mild scratching and indentation is present in the early register to the rear of the neck. This is most notable at the bass side behind the 2nd fret where the marking is lightly felt under the thumb. Wear to the lacquer is present along the treble side edge of the fingerboard at the 15th fret. 

     

    Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light to mild scratching and indentation, most notably to the edges of the lower bout and bass side waist where the finish has chipped to reveal the wood beneath. Further indentation is present to the centre of the lower bout on the rear face. The pickguard shows mild to moderate scratching consistent with playwear. 

     

    Condition of Frets:

    The frets demonstrate light signs of previous use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

     

    Current Set Up:

    Truss Rod: Full functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) included.

    Hardware: Overall very good condition. The bridge displays light signs of tarnishing.

    Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

    Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
