Here for sale we have a PRS McCarty 594 in Gold Top finish. PRS's McCarty 594 line of guitars are designed as a tribute to Ted McCarty who was Paul Reed Smith's mentor and also the ex-president of Gibson. Made in the USA in 2018, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with a Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted including a PRS Two-Piece bridge and PRS Locking tuning machines. A pair of PRS 58/15 LT humbucking pickups are installed and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, independent volume and tone controls, along with independent push/pull coil splits on each tone control. 
 
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the 'Pattern Vintage' neck profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial and suitably vintage inspired playing experience across the register. The 24.594" scale length is where the guitar takes its name from, and is seen as a sweet spot for comfort and intonation. Certainly, the shorter scale helps to make the neck feel easy to navigate, whilst the reduced string tension is easier on the fingers- perfect for fast playing and bending. The Rosewood used for the fingerboard is nice and dark in appearance, and with a tight grain and 10" radius provides a smooth and durable playing surface right the way up the register. 
 
The pair of PRS 58/15 LT humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full bodied tones, perfect for throaty vintage-style sounds with plenty of warmth and clarity. The 'LT' in the name denotes the 'Low Turn' nature of the pickups, meaning that they are not wound as hot as typical modern humbuckers. The result is a pickup which delivers a suitably vintage-inspired tone, with a deep low end, punchy mid range and sparkling highs. The independent controls respond well to small changes, meaning you are in full control of your tone at all times. The addition of the push/pull coil split function offers the opportunity for single-coil style sounds, and completes a versatile yet highly distinctive instrument.
