PRS Custom 24 10 Top Amber USA 2009 Electric Guitar
Here for sale we have a PRS Custom 24 10 top in Amber finish. Made in the USA in 2009 this guitar features a set-neck construction consisting of a Mahogany body with Maple top, Mahogany neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include PRS top locking tuning machines and 6-point vintage-style tremolo bridge. A pair of PRS humbucking pickups are fitted with a PRS Vintage Bass in the neck and a PRS Vintage Treble in the bridge. These are wired to a 5-way pickup selector, master volume and master tone controls.
 
The Mahogany neck plays superbly well, with the ‘Standard’ profile offering a smooth, responsive and articulate paying experience in all registers. Certainly, the profile is well suited to lead players as it is slim enough for fast melodic lines and solos. The gloss finish to the rear of the neck assists with navigation of the 25" scale, and the double cutaway body design with signature PRS sculpted lower horn enhances access to the upper frets. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, its 10" radius feeling practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques whilst the attractive and unique Abalone inlays add a touch of luxury to the playing experience.
 
The pair of PRS humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones, with plenty of switching options to ensure versatility. The Vintage Bass in the neck position is warm and round, and delivers plenty of power to push those lead lines and solos to the front of the mix. The bridge pickup is brighter, and can handle serious amounts of gain for a saturated rhythm guitar sound on your riffs and power chords. In positions 2 & 4 the pickups effectively split, providing an out-of-phase single coil sound which works well for crystal clear shimmering clean sounds. The control layout remains simple but offers plenty of scope for shaping your tone.

    Aesthetic Condition:

    Headstock: Overall very good condition, the treble side bottom corner demonstrates a notable chip to the finish, revealing the wood beneath. This is apparent when viewing the front face. Further chipping to a lesser degree can be identified to the bass side tip of the headstock. The front face demonstrates very light scratching towards the top edge visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.

    Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates some moderate scratching to the treble side of the profile in the middle register which pierces the finish slightly. The fingerboard demonstrates some light playwear in the early register, particularly between the 1st and second fret. This is visible only under close inspection and is difficult to discern from the natural grain.

    Body: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates light to moderate indentations across the profile, occasionally piercing the finish. Consistent light scratching is apparent to the bass side of the bridge and between the treble side waist and pickups, consistent with the use of a plectrum. This is visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. The indentations across the front face were difficult to photograph. The rear face demonstrates moderate buckle rash to the center, with further light yet consistent indentations apparent along the lower bout. The treble side lower bout rear edge and rear bottom edge demonstrate consistent light indentation, occasionally piercing the finish.

     

    Condition of Frets:

    The frets demonstrate moderate signs of wear, with some indentation and flattening of the crowns throughout. This does not affect playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.

     

    Current Set Up:

    Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included.

    Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of use, most notably tarnishing and oxidation of the saddles and bridgeplate.

    Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

     

    Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
