Here for sale we have a PRS Custom 22 Electric Guitar in Dark Cherry Sunburst finish. Made in the USA in 2001, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with Carved Flamed Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome/Nickel hardware is equipped, including a 6-point tremolo bridge with block saddles and PRS Locking tuning machines. The pickups installed are a pair of PRS Dragon humbuckers, which are wired to a 5-way rotary switch, master volume and master tone controls.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the 'Wide Fat' profile providing a characterful and vintage-inspired playing experience in all registers without being at all cumbersome. The Gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth and speedy navigation of the 25" scale, whilst the double cutaway body design with the customary PRS sculpted lower horn ensures uninhibited access to the upper frets. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with Abalone ‘Birds’ inlays adding a sense of luxury to the playing experience. The 10" radius strikes a perfect balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for lead lines and string bending techniques.
The pair of PRS Dragon II humbucking pickups installed in this guitar are clear, articulate and bold sounding. These medium output humbuckers deliver a refined vintage-style tone that will sit well within a wide range of genres and musical situations. Wired to a 5-way rotary pickup selector, there are a vast array of tones close to hand. Split coil sounds are available in the in-between positions (2 and 4) and your usual humbucking options in positions 1, 3 and 5. Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall good condition. Moderate indentations are present to the edges of the headstock, these have broken through the finish exposing the woods beneath. Screw holes are slightly apparent to the rear face near the tuning machines, this is from when the previous tuning machines were installed. All aspects of the headstock display light to mild scratching which is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes.
Neck: Overall very good condition. Light to mild indentations and scratching is present across the rear of the neck, the most noticeable of these have chipped away the finish exposing the wood beneath, these can be felt in the playing position. A noticeable chip to the lacquer finish can be seen and felt to the treble side edge of the 9th fret.
Body: Overall good condition. All aspects of the body display light to moderate chipping, scratching and indentations, the most apparent chipping of the finish can be seen to the edges of the body where the wood has been exposed. The most apparent scratching can be seen to the rear face of the body consistent with moderate past use and can be seen under direct light.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is apparent throughout the register. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (7mm socket) not included.
Hardware: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the metal hardware display mild to moderate tarnishing and oxidation of the finish, this is most apparent to the bass side saddles and the pickup covers. The original tuning machines have been replaced with a set of PRS branded tuning machines, the original tuners are not included. Tremolo arm is included.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
