Here for sale we have a PRS CE 24 electric guitar in Royal Blue finish which has faded significantly over the years. Made in the USA in 1993, the original CE was introduced in 1988 and offered players PRS design and quality with the added snap and sparkle of traditional bolt-on guitars. This bolt-on construction comprises a Mahogany body topped with a Flamed Maple top, Maple neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted, including a PRS Patented6-point vintage-style Tremolo and PRS designed Locking Tuners. A pair of PRS humbucking pickups are installed, with an HFS in the bridge and a Vintage in the neck. These are wired to a 5-way rotary switch, master volume and master tone controls.

The Maple neck plays exceptionally well, with the 'Wide Thin' profile filling the hand nicely without being at all cumbersome. Certainly, the profile is thick enough to sustain a firm grip when chord playing whilst remaining slim enough for fast articulate melodic lines. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 10" radius is practical for a wide range of styles and techniques. The smooth gloss finish to the rear of the neck assists with navigation of the 25" scale, whilst the double cutaway design with signature PRS chamfered horn ensures unobstructed access to the upper register for soloing.

Amplified, the pair of PRS humbucking pickups deliver plenty of grunt and character, with the 5-way switching delivering a wide range of tones appropriate for many genres and playing styles. The HFS in the bridge is nice and hot, with a powerful output that can easily drive your amp into a saturated distortion for rock rhythm parts and riffs. Indeed, 'HFS' stands for Hot, Fat & Screams! The Vintage humbucker in the neck is of course rounder, producing a smooth and clear tone for solos and lead lines, as well as a crystalline, glassy clean tone. A beautiful instrument which has developed its own unique character over the years.

    Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light scratching and indentation is apparent across the front face, visible only under close scrutiny. This is most apparent between the B & G tuners. The top edge demonstrates some light indentation that does not pierce the finish.  Both bottom corners of the headstock demonstrate similar less frequent indentation.

Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates several small patches where the finish has worn away. This is most noticeable behind the 5th and 3rd frets in the center of the neck, but also is apparent frequently along the treble side edge. The fingerboard demonstrates very light scratching and indentation throughout the register consistent with regular play wear.

Body: Overall very good condition. The finish has faded significantly over time. This is apparent near the controls where a darker blue is still visible. The finish appears darker or lighter depending on the angle of viewing. The front face demonstrates several light indentations slightly piercing the finish. These can be identified to the treble side horn, the treble side waist, bottom edge and the bass side of the lower bout. The rear face demonstrates light buckle rash, scratching and indentation across the entire face. The edges and sides of the instrument demonstrate very light scratching and indentation visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. Hairline finish cracks are apparent to either side of the neck pocket, not affecting the structural integrity of the instrument.

    Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, with indentation in the early register and flattening of the crowns throughout. This does not affect playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.
