Here for sale we have a very special PRS 20th Anniversary Custom 24 in Amber finish. 2005 was the 20th Anniversary of the founding of PRS, and a commemorative model was released to celebrate. Due to the volume of orders, it took until around 2008 for all of the 20th anniversary models to be produced. A unique fingerboard inlay design was produced, being named 'Birds in Flight' thanks to the wind motif included. The birds are shown in a different configuration to PRS' usual design, and the entire piece is inlaid in Abalone. Other commemorative features include the special 20th Anniversary truss rod cover. 
 
Made in the USA in 2006, this instrument features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with Flamed Maple top, Mahogany neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Nickel/Chrome hardware is fitted including a 5-point vintage-style tremolo bridge and PRS sealed locking tuning machines. A pair of PRS passive zebra-coil humbucking pickups are installed, with an HFS in the neck and Vintage in the bridge. These are wired to a 5-way rotary pickup selector and master volume & tone controls. 
 
The Mahogany neck plays superbly well, with the 'Wide Thin' profile offering a smooth, responsive and articulate paying experience in all registers. Certainly, the profile is well suited to lead players as it is slim enough for fast melodic lines and solos. The gloss finish to the rear of the neck assists with navigation of the 25" scale, and the double cutaway body design with signature PRS sculpted lower horn enhances access to the upper frets. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, it's 10" radius feeling practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques whilst the attractive and unique Abalone inlays add a touch of luxury to the playing experience.
 
The pair of PRS humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones, with plenty of switching options to ensure versatility. The HFS in the neck position is warm and round, and delivers plenty of power to push those lead lines and solos to the front of the mix. The bridge pickup is brighter, and can handle serious amounts of gain for a saturated rhythm guitar sound on your riffs and power chords. In positions 2 & 4 the pickups effectively split, providing an out-of-phase single coil sound which works well for crystal clear shimmering clean sounds. The control layout remains simple but offers plenty of scope for shaping your tone.
