Here for sale we have a Peavey RJ-IV Electric Bass in Purple Pearl Burst finish. Made in the USA in 1991, this bass consists of a Select Maple body, an Eastern Maple neck, and a 21-fret Macassar Ebony fingerboard. Other appointments include a Graphlon top nut, Solid Milled Bridge with Saddle Tracks, Reduced Mass "Mini" Bass machine heads, a Hipshot Bass Extender key, and a set of Active Peavey PJ pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume, a 3-band EQ, and a mid-notch selector.
The Eastern Maple neck plays very comfortably, with a 'D' profile filling the hand in an assuring fashion while still allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning. The double cutaway body design offers extended access into the upper register. This works well with the Painted Gloss finish to the rear of the neck, allowing for smooth navigation of the 34” scale. The 10” radius makes for a great feel under the fingers, and provides the versatility required for a wide range of styles and techniques.
Amplified, the pair of Active Peavey PJ pickups deliver thick and full bodied bass tones, with plenty of deep lows and a driving mid range that is sure to lay a solid foundation in any mix. The middle position is of course nicely round and warm, whilst the bridge position is bright and spanky, perfectly capturing all of the attack and sparkle from your playing. The on-board preamp provides comprehensive control of your sound right on the instrument, with a master volume and 3-band EQ with Mid-Notch selection allowing you to blend into any musical situation -or indeed stand out when you want to.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition, the top of the headstock demonstrates consistent indentation and scuffing, chipping the finish in places revealing the wood beneath. The treble side edge demonstrates a notable indentation, chipping the finish. A small chip can be identified to the bass side edge on the front face near the G string tuner.
Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates a chip to the finish in the early register to the bass side of the profile. Further lighter indentation is apparent throughout the register, somewhat difficult to discern beneath the thumb.
Body: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates two chips to the finish beside the neck pickups. The edges demonstrate consistent scuffing and light indentations most apparent to the bottom edge. The rear face demonstrates light indentation and scratching throughout.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for future fret work.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included.
Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of use. Two screws are missing from the truss rod cover, and two missing from the makeshift battery cover.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2mm - Bass 2.5mm
