Here for sale we have an Overwater Perception-Series 5-String Fretless Electric Bass in Natural finish. Established in 1979, The Overwater Guitar Company was started by Chris May and at the start it was an even split between making guitars and basses, however it then became apparent to Chris that there was a gap in the market for high quality, innovative bass guitars and thus the focus shifted. Overwater is now a world-renowned Bass brand and has served many professional bass players over the years.
Made in the UK, this bass consists of a Maple body topped with Walnut, a Maple neck, and an Ebony fingerboard. Other appointments include Closed-Gear tuners, a top-loading 5-saddle Overwater bridge, Chrome hardware, and a set of Overwater soapbar pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume, and 3 band EQ.
The Maple neck plays very well, with its slim ‘D’ profile feeling smooth and responsive making for an efficient playing experience, whilst the fifth string is super easy to fret thanks to the easy-to-grip neck. The semi-gloss finish to the rear of the neck feels pleasing under the thumb and enhances transitions up and down the neck whilst the double cut design of the body makes for great access to the higher register. The fingerboard radius allows for a quick and easy feel, great for faster lines.
The Overwater soapbar pickups have a well rounded tone, with a solid and commanding low end, a tight and punchy midrange, along with clear and cutting highs. The active controls offer a plethora of tonal options, allowing you to take full control of your sound with a 3-band active EQ, great for sculpting out the perfect tone for any playing situation. Overall a really solid workhorse bass with a lovely modern feel!

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. The front face top edge demonstrates a small indentation that does not reveal the wood beneath. Indentations are apparent to the rear face top corners, these have not chipped the finish to reveal the wood beneath. The bass side edge near the low B string displays some dark discolouration, most likely from previous stand use.
Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates a few light, small indentations throughout These cannot be felt in the playing position and in no way affect the feel or playability. Satin finish to the rear has been polished to a light gloss through previous use. The fingerboard demonstrates dark spotting throughout the register in areas where the wood is not as porous.
Body: Overall very good condition. The body demonstrates light to mild scratching and indentations throughout all aspects of the body most notably to the lower bout edges. There is a spot of discolouration on the top of the neck heel.

Hardware: Fully functional and very good condition. Some mild tarnishing is apparent to the tuning machines and bridge.

General hard case
Overall good condition. All aspects of the case display signs of previous use. The outer shell has some paint transfer and scuffing and the ribbon has become detached resulting in the lid fulling folding out upon opening.
