Here for sale we have an Overwater Custom Deluxe 5-String Electric Bass in Gloss finish. Established in 1979, The Overwater Guitar Company was started by Chris May and at the start it was an even split between making guitars and basses, however it then became apparent to Chris that there was a gap in the market for high quality, innovative bass guitars and thus the focus shifted. Overwater is now a world-renowned bass brand and has served many professional bass players over the years.
Made in 2006 in the United Kingdom, this bass consists of a Mahogany body with a Rosewood top, a Maple/Walnut neck, and a 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Gotoh sealed tuning machines, a top-loading 5-saddle Overwater bridge, Gold hardware, and a set of Overwater Soapbar pickups. These pickups are wired to a Master Volume, 3-Band EQ, XLR Balance Balance Volume, XLR switch.
The Maple/Walnut neck plays very well, with its ‘D’ profile feeling smooth and responsive making for an efficient playing experience, whilst the fifth string is super easy to fret thanks to the easy-to-grip neck. The Gloss finish to the rear of the neck feels pleasing under the thumb and enhances transitions up and down the neck whilst the double cut design of the body makes for great access to the higher register. The compound fingerboard radius balances traditional and modern playing feels, being rounder in the lower register and flattening out as you move up the register, for a quick and easy feel, great for faster lines.
The Overwater Soapbar pickups have a well rounded tone, with a solid and commanding low end, a tight and punchy midrange, along with clear and cutting highs. The controls offer a plethora of tonal options, allowing you to take full control of your sound with a 3-band active EQ and a XLR Balance control, great for sculpting out the perfect tone for any playing situation. Overall a really solid workhorse bass with a lovely modern feel!

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall excellent condition, the top edge demonstrates some light indentation which does not pierce the finish.
Neck: Overall excellent condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates very light scratching and indentation throughout the register which cannot be discerned beneath the thumb.
Body: Overall very good condition, the sides of the lower bout and waist demonstrate indentation and scuffing, occasionally piercing the finish. This is most notable to the bass side edge of the lower bout. All aspects of the body demonstrate consistent light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5mm hex) not included.
Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of wear, most notably tarnishing of the brass saddles.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Case & Accessories
Unbranded hardcase.
Overall good condition. A portion of the plastic exterior has come away in the past, this can be seen to the bass side corner exposing the foam below the plastic. The case ribbon in the interior of the case has previously become detached, this means the case lid will not hold open.
