Here for sale we have an Ovation electro-acoustic guitar in Sunburst finish. Made in the USA in 1996, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Solid Sitka Spruce top, Lyrachord Bowl body, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. A set of Schaller sealed tuning machines are installed. This is wired to an on-board Ovation FET-3 preamp with a master volume knob & 3-band EQ.
The Mahogany neck plays well, with a rather slim profile which lends itself well to a wide
variety of styles and techniques. The neck profile is a clear but soft 'V' shape which provides a distinctive yet refined playing experience across the register. The 'V' profile is often overlooked amongst a sea of 'C' and 'Low Oval' shapes, which is a shame because it is a highly ergonomic shape which can add a lot of character to an instrument. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck is pleasant to the touch and assists with smooth navigation of the 25.25" scale.
The tone of the 1860 Custom Balladeer Special is bright and clear thanks to the Lyrachord Bowl & Solid Spruce combination. The bowl shape to the rear assists with projection of the sound, whilst the Spruce top resonates beautifully and adds a snap and sparkle to the sound. The Ovation preamp system does an excellent job of conveying the acoustic voice of the instrument, with the on-board controls offering plenty of scope to shape and sculpt your sound to any live or recording situation.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall excellent condition. A very light indentation is present to the top edge of the headstock that has not chipped the finish to reveal the wood beneath.
Neck: Overall very good condition. The fingerboard demonstrates light hairline scratching throughout, only visible under direct light at certain angles. The rear of the neck demonstrates light to moderate scratching and indentations that have not pierced the finish, most notably to the bass side in line with the 7th fret.
Body: Overall very good condition. The top displays some light scratching and indentation throughout, most notably to the lower bout near the binding where the finish has been chipped and slightly reveals the wood beneath. Any markings to the rear bowl are difficult to discern.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light denting and flattening to the crown, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (3/16" hex) not included.
Hardware: Overall excellent condition and fully functional.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Ovation hard case
Overall good condition. The case displays signs of previous use, most notably a crack near the hinges resulting in the lid no longer staying up when opened. This does not effect the overall structural integrity of the case and will still protect the guitar sufficiently when closed.
