Here for sale we have an incredible Custom Ordered Novo Voltur electric guitar in 'Medium Distressed' Inca Silver finish. Novo Guitars are the brainchild of Dennis Fano, famously from Fano Guitars. Handcrafted works of art, each Novo is thoughtfully designed, with painstaking attention paid to everything from the selection of the wood and layers of master finishing work to the perfectly paired components. These elements are distilled into the incredible tone machines we now expect from Novo. Dennis is as much of an artist as he is a guitar luthier. His innovative guitar designs transcend genre and generations, pulling classic elements from several decades of innovation while making the most of what exists today.
Produced in Novo's Nashville workshop in 2022, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Tempered Pine body, Tempered Maple neck & 22 fret Ebony fingerboard. The fingerboard is double-bound in white, and is inlaid with 'MOTO' (Mother of Tone/Pearloid) blocks. Nickel/Chrome hardware is fitted including a 'Chopped Tele' bridge with Brass Barrel saddles & a set of Kluson vintage-style split-post tuning machines. An F-Spaced Fralin Unbucker is installed in the bridge position, alongside a Lollar Staple P-90 in the neck position. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume & master tone controls, with a bridge coil-split mini toggle.
The Tempered Maple neck plays very well indeed, with the Chunky 'C' profile offering plenty of substance for a firm grip when chord playing, yet remaining slim enough for articulate melodic playing. The nut width & fingerboard radius are of course reminiscent of the Stratocaster, however due to the thick neck & large offset body, the playing experience is distinctive, refined & unique. The Ebony of the fingerboard is luxurious under the fingers, and with its 9.5" radius & medium frets is practical for a wide range of playing styles & techniques, accommodating everything from complex jazz chord voicings to ripping solo licks.
Amplified, this instrument puts an incredibly wide range of sounds at your disposal. The Fralin Unbucker in the bridge delivers thick, full-bodied powerful tones by the bucketload, producing plenty of bright clean trebles and moving into full-bore distortion as you crank the gain on your amp. The addition of a dedicated coil-split mini toggle is very welcome as it allows you to explore a range of single-coil style sounds without having to change guitars. The Lollar Staple P-90 in the neck position delivers a broad, warm tone that is well suited to a wide range of styles & sounds. Clean sounds range from smooth jazz through to crystalline shimmers. The pickup also drives an amp very nicely for your blues & rock riffs & licks. A seriously exciting instrument from one of the most highly-regarded manufacturers on the market.
