Here for sale we have a National Reso-Phonic Polychrome Tricone in Polychrome finish. Built in the USA in 2007, this resonator acoustic guitar features a steel body with a set of three 6" resonator cones, a soft ‘V’ profile Maple neck, a 19 fret Rosewood fingerboard, along with a bone nut.
The soft ‘V’ profile neck plays very well, feeling quite chunky in the hand without being overly cumbersome, practical for both chordal and melodic playing styles. Weighing in at 9lbs this is certainly on the heavier side, however the Steel body offers a lively and responsive playing experience with superb dynamic control, resonating beautifully. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers. The smooth lines of the body are comfortable in the arms, with a reassuring weight to the body which provides a sense of dependability and substance to the playing experience.
The Polychrome Tricone has a tight and punchy tone that easily cuts through the ensemble, without the need for heavier gauge strings, the trio of cones projecting with ease. Despite how loud it is, the midrange is surprisingly smooth and creamy, along with a warm low end, and a clear, articulate top end. Overall an excellent workhorse resonator, great for both slide and fretted playing styles alike, a great example of why National Reso-Phonic are widely regarded as the best in the business!
