Here for sale we have a Maybach Lester '57 in Aged Gold Rush finish. Maybach guitars are a family run business founded in 2008. Based in Germany, their production line guitars are made in the Czech Republic, with final check and set up taking place in Germany.  They focus primarily on iconic designs from the '50s & '60s, with series such as the Lester (Les Paul style of course) and Capitol (based on an ES-335). The company has developed a reputation for their attention to detail as well as the use of high quality materials and vintage-style pickups, partnering with fellow vintage-focussed German company Amber Pickups. 
 
Made in the Czech Republic in 2025, this guitar is an homage to those early Gibson designs of the late '50s, and naturally features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with Maple top, Mahogany neck with long tenon & 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard with Mother of Pearl block inlays. Nickel hardware is fitted including Gotoh stoptail, T-O-M bridge & vintage-style tuning machines. A pair of Amber Spirit of '59 humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume & tone controls. 
 
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the '50s Vintage profile filling the hand for a suitably vintage-inspired playing experience. Certainly on the thicker side, the neck inspires confidence when chord playing and riffing, whilst offering a firm grip for lead lines and solos. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is luxurious under the fingers, providing a smooth & durable playing surface for the user to explore. With Medium Jumbo frets, the feel of vibrato and string bending techniques is improved, producing a rock-solid feeling under the fingers. 
 
Amplified, the pair of Amber Pickups humbuckers deliver warm, thick and full-bodied vintage accurate tones, perfect for the guitarist searching for that classic late '50s sound. The 'Spirit of '59' humbuckers use historically correct materials and manufacturing methods such as the #42 plain enamel wire & AlNiCo IV magnets to achieve an authentic tone. They are even wound by hand just like the original PAFs were. This all adds up to an unmistakable vintage warmth, with a grind that is distinctly PAF - perfect for rock, blues and even metal players thanks to their saturation and articulation. A typically beautifully made and great sounding instrument from Maybach.
