Here for sale we have an absolutely beautiful left handed Martin OM-28V acoustic guitar in Gloss Natural finish. Made in the USA in 2001, this now discontinued model of course features an all-solid dovetail construction comprising a Spruce top, East Indian Rosewood back & sides, Mahogany neck & 20 fret Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double-bound in Grained Ivoroid, whilst the top is adorned with Herringbone purfling, Multi-Stripe rosette & Tortoiseshell pickguard. The back features a 'Zig-Zag' pattern inlay as well as multi-stripe purfling. The headplate is made from Solid East Indian Rosewood, and is complimented by Nickel Martin open-geared tuning machine with 'Butterbean' buttons. A Bone saddle and nut are fitted, completing an exquisitely appointed instrument.
The Select Hardwood neck plays very well, with the Modified 'V' profile feeling supremely comfortable in the hand and allowing for easy reach and effortless fretting across the register. In conjunction with the Volute, the profile delivers a suitably pre-war inspired playing experience. The scale length of 25.4" is slightly longer than traditional for an auditorium guitar, and offers comfortable string tension for expressive bending and vibrato techniques whilst engaging the top effectively. The luxurious Ebony surface of the fingerboard is radiused to 16" for comfortable chord playing and practicality for fingerstyle playing. The smooth lines of the 000 body are as comfortable in the arm as ever, ensuring comfort in both standing and seated positions.
The acoustic voice of the Martin OM-28V is both rich and well balanced. The 000 body size has long been renowned for its clear, open and uniform response across all 6 strings. Striking the perfect balance between the strong bass response and volume of the dreadnought and the intimate, balanced sound of the Parlor, the tone is well suited to both chordal and melodic playing styles. The Spruce top projects beautifully, delivering ample volume and dynamic range whilst retaining clarity throughout. The East Indian Rosewood back and sides add a warmth and character to the sound which is well complemented by the brightness of the Spruce top. A beautifully made and lavishly appointed instrument.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. The top edges and side demonstrate consistent light scuffing and indentation, occasionally piercing the finish and revealing the wood beneath. This is most notable at the bass side front corner.
Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates light indentations throughout the register which can be very slightly discerned beneath the thumb, not affecting the overall playability of the instrument. The clear finish has clouded slightly over time, however this does not impact performance and is solely cosmetic. Any markings to the fingerboard are difficult to discern.
Body: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates very consistent indentations across the upper bout that pierce but do not chip the finish. The lower bout demonstrates more moderate indentations scattered around the perimeter, revealing the wood in places, most notably towards the bottom edge and bass side edge close to the waist. Further light indentation is apparent throughout the face. Moderate nitro checking is present throughout the front face, most notable at the bass side upper bout. The sides demonstrate light to moderate indentation particularly on the bass side where one indentation causes a hairline crack in the finish. This has been tested and does not affect the wood. The rear face demonstrates similar indentation and scratching, with the most notable piercing the finish to the center of the face.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, with indentation and flattening of the crowns throughout. This does not affect playability. There is moderate material remaining for future fret work.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5mm hex) included.
Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. The tuners demonstrate slightly different resistances when turning but all function and hold tune as expected. The pickguard shows mild scratching consistent with playwear.
Structural: The rear of the bridge is slightly lifting, allowing a feeler gauge to be inserted around 2mm underneath the bridge. The lifting is approximately 0.15mm.
