Here for sale we have a Martin Road Series D E Retro Plus. Made in Mexico in 2025, this guitar features an all-solid construction comprising a Thermally Aged Spruce top, Mahogany back & sides, Select Hardwood neck & 20 fret Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound in Black, whilst the top is adorned with multistripe purfling & rosette, along with a Faux Tortoise pickguard. A Tusq saddle & Corian nut are fitted, as well as a set of Nickel Grover open-geared tuning machines The headplate is East Indian Rosewood, and features the Martin Script Old Style logo. An undersaddle piezo pickup is installed, and wired to a Martin E1 on-board preamp with master volume & master tone controls, as well as an on-board tuner. 
 
The Select Hardwood neck plays very well, with the Performing Artist profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and providing easy fretting and ergonomic thumb positioning in all registers. The Ebony fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with attractive Faux Abalone inlays adds a real sense of luxury to the playing experience. The traditional 16" radius remains as practical as ever, well suited to both chordal, fingerstyle and melodic playing styles across the register. The Dreadnought body shape is comfortable in the arms, with the all-solid construction ensuring a resonant and lively experience for the player. 
 
The voice of the Martin D E Retro Plus is rich and beautiful, just as we expect from Martin Dreadnoughts. The Mahogany back and sides provide a silky smooth bass response that remains detailed and accurate across the dynamic range. The mids are punchy and clear, and add a warmth and clarity to the tone. The top end is sparkly and bright, adding a glistening quality to every note played on the instrument. The dynamic range of the instrument is truly impressive; gentle playing is rewarded with a very tender and soft tone, ramping smoothly up to the rich, loud chord strumming sound that the Dreadnought is renowned for. The on-board Martin E1 electronics are simple but practical, opening up opportunities for both live & studio use.
