Here for sale we have a Martin DX1AE Electro-Acoustic guitar in Satin Natural finish. Made in Mexico in 2017, this guitar features a mortise & tenon construction comprising a Spruce top, High Pressure Laminate (HPL) back and sides with Figured Mahogany Pattern finish. The neck is made from 'Rust Stratabond', where multiple strips of wood are laminated together to form a neck that is very strong and resistant to warping, and much more environmentally friendly thanks to the use of wood which would otherwise be discarded. A compensated Tusq saddle is fitted, along with a Corian nut and Chrome sealed Martin tuning machines. A Fishman Sonicore undersaddle piezo pickup is installed, and is wired to a discreetly sound hole mounted Fishman MX preamp with master volume and tone controls.
 
The Rust Stratabond neck plays very well. Martin's Low Oval neck profile fills the hand nicely for a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. Certainly, the profile is sized to fall between a vintage feel and modern practicality, allowing for chords and melodic playing equally well. The satin finish to the rear of the neck assists with smooth navigation of the 25.4" scale, which itself offers slightly reduced string tension for a slinky and highly playable feel. The Dreadnought body design is as comfortable in the arms as ever, and at just 4.85lbs is nice and light for a traditional but practical feel. 
 
The acoustic voice of the Martin DX1AE is bright and well balanced. The dreadnought body size produces a warm and quite powerful tone which works very well for strumming thanks to great projection. Due to its large size, the bass response is warm and strong, yet manages to avoid being too soft or boomy. Mids are open & clear, whilst the sparkle at the top end is rich and luxurious. There is plenty of volume and dynamic range to play with, especially with the Solid Spruce top feeling so sensitive to the player's touch. The on-board pickup and preamp system faithfully conveys the acoustic tone of the instrument, and provides the versatility required for live and recording situations.
