Here for sale we have a Martin DX1 Tawny Satinwood Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar in Natural Satin finish. Made in Mexico in 2008, this guitar consists of a Spruce top, Tawny Satinwood HPL back and sides, a Stratabond neck, and a Morado fingerboard. Other appointments include A Frame 'X' Bracing, Art Deco inlays and Rosette, Chrome Enclosed tuners, and a Morado bridge.
The Stratabond neck plays very well. Martin's Standard. The Modified Low Oval neck profile fills the hand nicely for a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. Certainly, the profile is sized to fall between a vintage feel and modern practicality, allowing for chords and melodic playing equally well. The satin finish to the rear of the neck assists with smooth navigation of the 25.4" scale, which itself offers slightly reduced string tension for a slinky and highly playable feel. The Dreadnought body design is as comfortable in the arms as ever, and at just 4.15lbs is nice and light for a traditional but practical feel.
The acoustic voice of the Martin X Series DX1 is bright and well balanced. The dreadnought body size produces a warm and quite powerful tone which works very well for strumming thanks to great projection. Due to its large size, the bass response is warm and strong, yet manages to avoid being too soft or boomy. Mids are open & clear, whilst the sparkle at the top end is rich and luxurious. There is plenty of volume and dynamic range to play with.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the headstock display light signs of past use.
Neck: Overall very good condition. Light to mild wear markings are present to the early register of the fingerboard, the most apparent of these can be seen and felt beneath the high E sting to the 3rd fret, consistent with past use.
Body: Overall excellent condition. Light discoloration is present tot he front face bass side lower bout, this can be seen under close scrutiny.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting and flattening of the frets is apparent to the early register. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Hardware: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the hardware display light signs of past use.
