Here for sale we have a Martin 000C-16GTE electro-acoustic guitar in Satin Natural finish, with a Gloss top. Made in the USA in 2007, this guitar features an all-solid construction comprising a Sitka Spruce top, Mahogany back & sides, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Micarta fingerboard with matching bridge. Chrome Martin-branded tuning machines are fitted, along with a compensated saddle & Bone nut. A Fishman Prefix Pro Blend hybrid microphone/pickup system is installed, and features shoulder-mounted controls for Volume, Notch, Bass, Treble, Contour, Frequency, Blend & Phase Reverse along with an on-board tuner.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a U shape or perhaps a very soft 'V', which offers comfortably playability & easy reach in all registers. The nut width is traditional at 1.703", and offers ample string spacing for easy fretting & great note separation. The Micarta fingerboard delivers a smooth & durable playing surface to explore, and with the traditional Martin 16" radius is practical for a wide range of playing styles & techniques. The 000 body is as comfortable in the arms as ever, whilst the cutaway enhances access to the upper register.
The Martin 000C-16GTE has a beautifully warm and rich voice, with a pleasing mellowness to its sound due to its all-solid construction. The 000 body size has long been renowned for its clear, open and uniform response across all 6 strings. Striking the perfect balance between the strong bass response and volume of the dreadnought and the intimate, balanced sound of the Parlor, the tone is well suited to both chordal and melodic playing styles. It has a rich low end with clear mids, and an unpronounced yet appealing high end. Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. The front face shows a moderate indentation to the top front edge, piercing the finish slightly. Further lighter indentation can be identified along the perimeter of the headstock, most notably at the top corners.
Neck: Overall very good condition. Very light scratching and indentation is scattered infrequently throughout the register of the rear of the neck. This cannot be felt beneath the thumb in the playing position. Very light lateral scratching is present throughout the fingerboard, visible only under close scrutiny. The satin finish to the rear of the neck has worn to a light gloss consistent with playwear.
Body: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates consistent light to moderate indentation along the lower bout, piercing the finish occasionally. Pick wear is apparent on the treble side of the soundhole, lightly revealing the wood beneath. Similar indentation and scratching can be identified to the treble side cutaway. The sides and rear demonstrate light scratching and indentation visible only under close inspection. High traffic areas on the body have buffed from satin to gloss through regular use.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate notable signs of use, not affecting playability. There is a small amount of material remaining in the early register for future fret work.
