Here for sale we have a KINGSNAKE Three Bone hollow body archtop electric guitar in Amber Natural Nitrocellulose finish. Made in Japan in 2021, this guitar comes from KINGSNAKE, a brand established in 2015 by Taurus Corporation, who import & distribute guitar brands like Collings & Waterloo in Japan. KINGSNAKE guitars are aimed at producing accurate but subtly improved versions of revered '50s instruments, all with the fantastic Japanese build quality we expect. The guitars are made at the Terada factory, which is where Gretsch's Japanese offerings are produced. KINGSNAKE guitars are manufactured in small batches- reportedly up to around 10 guitars in a batch- to ensure that quality remains as high as possible. 
 
Clearly based upon the Gibson ES-5, used extensively by blues legend T-Bone Walker, this Three Bone was one of the first produced in the first run in 2021 and features a set-neck construction comprising a 5-ply Laminated Curly Maple body, Maple neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. Nickel hardware is fitted including a trapeze tailpiece & Gotoh SD-90SL tuning machines. A floating Rosewood bridge is installed, along with a trio of KINGSNAKE TB-1 P-90 pickups. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume, neck tone & middle/brdige tone controls. 
 
The Maple neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a moderately-sized 'D' shape. This offers comfortable playability in all registers & encourages ergonomic thumb positioning thanks to the lightly flattened area to the centre rear. The Rosewood of the fretboard is supremely luxurious under the fingers, with a lovely tight grain & dark appearance that works together with the handsome block inlays to really enhance the premium feel of the instrument. The arched top & back of the body enhance comfort for long gigs & practice sessions, and as a hollow body there's nothing weighing you down on stage. 
 
Amplified, the trio of KINGSNAKE TB-1 P-90 pickups deliver a thick & full bodied tone, perfect for blues players. P-90s are a well-loved pickup design amongst those in the know, landing somewhere between the chime & sparkle of a single-coil & the grunt associated with a humbucker. Indeed, the P-90 is essentially an over-wound single-coil, so it can easily straddle the gap between single & humbucking pickups. With a trio of them installed in this instrument & quite extensive switching & tonal controls there's no end of sounds you can produce with this guitar. The body resonates beautifully, producing the open & airy sound & offering a wide, sensitive dynamic range.
