Here for sale we have a very rare and interesting Jackson USA Custom Soloist in Spheres Graphic finish. The Spheres Graphic finish was offered as a custom colour from the early '90s, first appearing in the catalogue in 1992. The design was produced by graphic artist Christopher Burgan who began working with Charvel Jackson in 1984. Made in the USA in 1996, this instrument features a through-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, Quartersawn Maple neck & 24 fret bound Ebony fingerboard with Mother of Pearl Sharkfin inlays. Black hardware is fitted including a Schaller double-locking tremolo system & sealed Jackson tuning machines. A pair of DiMarzio Evolution passive humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume & master tone controls.
The Quartersawn Maple neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a thin 'D' shape. This offers a razor sharp and precise playing experience in all registers. A slightly flattened area to the centre rear encourages ergonomic thumb positioning for fast playing, whilst the 12" fingerboard radius works with the Jumbo frets to ensure that the neck is practical for both rhythm & lead plying in all registers. The generous double cutaway body design enhances access to the upper register, with the through-neck construction providing completely unrestricted access to the upper register.
The pair of DiMarzio Evolution humbuckers installed in this guitar deliver thick, full-bodied and powerful sounds, just as we expect from DiMarzio. Matching the precision playability of the instrument, the pickups capture every nuance of your playing with ease, producing articulate tones which work equally well on brutal low-down riffs & searing solo lines. The bridge is bright and hot, easily pushing the amp into a saturated distortion. The neck is of course rounder, providing plenty of power to push your lead lines and solos to the front of the mix. The controls are responsive, allowing you to dial in a wide range of tones without even touching a pedal. The pinnacle of Jackson's work, incredibly well preserved in one of the rarest finishes available.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate very light yet consistent scratching which is visible under direct light & close inspection, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is more notable to the front face.
Neck: Overall excellent condition. The fingerboard demonstrates some slight scratching across the register which is visible under direct light & close scrutiny. Any other markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern.
Body: Overall very good condition. A chip to the finish on the treble side horn has been carefully repaired, with the original material glued back into place. This is visible under inspection but does not detract from the overall look of the instrument. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching and indentation when viewed under direct light & close scrutiny. This is most notable towards the bottom edge on both the front and rear faces.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate minimal signs of use. Some fret ends are slightly raised but appear to have been secured and do not impact the overall playability of the instrument. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
