Here for sale we have an Ibanez Sound Gear SR900FM Electric Bass in Transparent Black Flat finish. Made in Korea in 2006, this bass consists of a 5-piece Maple/Bubinga neck, Figured Maple body wings, and a 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include an Accu-cast B20 fixed bridge, upgraded Gotoh tuners, Cosmo Black hardware, and a set of Bartolini Mk-1 pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume, pickup balancer, and a 3-band EQ.
The 5-Piece Maple and Bubinga neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the ‘SRT4’ profile feeling slim, allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning. The 12” radius Rosewood fingerboard provides a comfortable playing surface, which allows for different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing. The Satin finish is fantastic for smooth, quick transitions up and down the neck whilst the double cutaway body design allows the player to have unobstructed access to the entire 24 fret register.
The two Bartolini MK-1 pickups are fairly bright and articulate for a bass pickup. This bass is capable of a really wide range of tones though thanks to the EQ. The electronics feature volume and balance control along with a 3 band EQ, allowing the player to control treble, middle and bass frequencies. The simplistic, yet logistical, nature of the control layout provides the player with an easy ‘plug in and go’ characteristic with plenty of scope for tonal shaping and exploring every possible sound that this bass can produce.
