Here for sale we have an Ibanez RGT42DXFM Electric Guitar in Brite Blue finish. Built in Korea in 2007 this guitar features a Mahogany body with a Flamed Maple top, a 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck, and a 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a locking nut and an Edge Pro II tremolo bridge, along with a pair of Ibanez INF humbuckers, wired to master volume/tone controls and a 5-way blade switch.
The 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck plays well, with Ibanez' popular Wizard II profile feeling articulate and precise in the hand, just as you would expect from an Ibanez. The profile could be described as a shallow 'D' shape, with a nicely flattened area to the centre rear which encourages ergonomic thumb positioning. The Rosewood fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 15.75" radius provides a nicely flat and consistent playing surface right the way up the register. Along with the jumbo frets, this guitar is well equipped for the technical player.
The pair of Ibanez INF humbucking pickups deliver thick and powerful tones, well suited to rock and metal genres. The neck pickup is round and warm whilst retaining plenty of clarity and articulation for those lead lines and solos. The bridge pickup is of course brighter, saturating into a searing distortion for rock and metal rhythm parts and riffs. 5-way switching provides the versatility required for clean sounds, splitting the pickups into pairs of single coils for a clean and crisp sound.
