Here for sale we have an Ibanez RG7620 7-string electric guitar in Black finish. Made in Japan in 1999, this model was one of the first 7-string RG series models introduced by Ibanez, alongside the fixed bridge option, the RG7621 A  bolt-on construction is employed and comprises a Basswood body, Maple neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Black hardware is fitted including an Ibanez Lo Pro Edge 7 double locking tremolo system and Gotoh SG38 tuning machines. A pair of DiMarzio RG-7 passive humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 5-way blade switch and master volume and tone controls.

The Maple neck plays very well, with the RG7 neck profile feeling characteristically Ibanez; nicely slim and shallow with a flattened area to the centre rear which encourages ergonomic thumb positioning for fast, precise playing. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, whilst the 17" radius works in conjunction with the Jumbo frets to ensure that lead lines and solos are a breeze, with a nice smooth feel to string bending and vibrato techniques. The S-Style RG body design is as comfortable in the arms as ever, with generous contours, highly practical double-cutaways and Ibanez' 'All Access Neck Joint' (AANJ) ensuring that even players with large hands can reach the top frets.

The pair of DiMarzio RG-7 passive humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver a thick low end grunt with plenty of aggression in the mid and treble response. This provides definition when riffing on the low B string and retains clarity even with dropped tunings. The neck is of course the warmer of the two pickups, and is well suited to lead lines and solos. The bridge is nice and hot, easily driving your amp into a saturated distortion on rhythm parts and power chords. The use of a 5-way switch gives you the option of more single-coil type sounds for the clean tone sections of your set.

    Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light to mild indentation around the perimeter of the  front face in places chips the finish. This is most notable to the tip. Light to mild scratching of the front face is most notable around the tuning posts. The rear demonstrates a light scratch running from behind the nut up towards the center of the headstock. A light indentation is present at the rear bottom corner which lightly pierces the finish.

Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck has buffed to a gloss through regular use. Light indentation is apparent throughout the entire register, most consistently in the bass side early register. These markings can be slightly felt under the thumb but do not affect the overall playability of the instrument. The fingerboard demonstrates some light indentation in the early register consistent with regular playwear, as well as a light indentation at the 7th fret.

Body: Overall good condition. The edges of the body show consistent chipping and indentation, revealing the wood beneath around the majority of the perimeter, perhaps most notable around the lower bout rear edge. Some finish cracking is apparent to both corners of the neck pocket which does not affect the structural stability of the instrument. Further light cracking can be seen across the rear face. All aspects of the body show light to mild scratching, indentation and chipping.

    Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, with some light very indentation in the early register and slight flattening of the crowns throughout. This does not impact the overall playability of the instrument. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

    Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (7mm socket) not included.

    Strings on Guitar - 9-42

Very light fret noise is present in the upper register but is not heard when amplified. This noise does not affect the bending or sustain of notes. The new owner may wish to raise the action to alleviate this.

    Fully functional.
