Here we have for sale an Ibanez George Benson Signature GB10SE Hollowbody in Brown Sunburst finish. Built in China in 2017, this guitar features a set-neck construction, consisting of a Laminated Spruce top, and Laminated Maple back and sides, 3 piece Maple neck and a 22 fret bound Ebony fingerboard. This instrument is fitted with an adjustable rosewood bridge, GB10 Adjustable split tailpiece, Ibanez sealed Gold and Pearloid tuners, and a Half & Half Brass and Bone nut. The pickups installed are a pair of Ibanez GB Special passive, wired to independent volume and tone controls for both pickups and a 3 way selector switch.
The maple neck plays very well, with the notably slim GB10SE profile feeling comfortable for quick and easy navigation up and down the neck. The gloss finish feels particularly luxurious, smooth, and firm under the thumb. The Ebony fingerboard provides a smooth yet sturdy playing surface, with the usual snappiness expected from this excellent selection of premium wood. The traditional 12" radius lends itself to those fast flowing jazz licks, and the Medium Artstar Edge Treatment frets ensure there is no discomfort or catching on the end of the frets throughout the register.
The GB Special pickups provide warm and smooth tones, whilst maintaining clarity in both neck and bridge positions. A detailed low-end is complemented well by a smooth mid-range, the trebles falling off ever so slightly to reveal a tried and true jazzbox tone. The controls provide all necessary adjustment for each pickup, allowing you to roll off tones and volumes independently for switching between lead lines and rhythm. A truly refined take on the traditional jazzbox.
