Here for sale we have a Höfner Contemporary Series HCT-500/2-SB Club-Bass in 2-Tone Sunburst finish. Made in China in 2015, this bass features a set-neck construction comprising a Maple back and sides body topped with a Spruce top, a 3-pc Maple/Beech/Maple neck, and a 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument features a semi-acoustic construction, compact body shape and short scale length just like the original 500/2. The pickups installed are a pair of Hofner Staple humbucking pickups. These are wired to a Treble on/off switch, a Bass on/off switch, 2 Independent volume knobs and a Solo/Rhythm toggle switch.
The ‘C’ shaped 3-piece Maple/Beech/Maple neck plays extremely easily, with its vintage slim style. The gloss finish to the rear of the neck makes for a smooth and pleasing playing surface while the Rosewood fretboard provides a durable playing surface. The short scale length plus the hollow body construction makes for a lightweight and fluid playing instrument.
The Hofner Ignition Staple humbuckers provided a powerful yet balanced sound that is extremely versatile. The thick, thumping low end is complemented with punchy mids and detailed highs. The humbuckers amplify the naturally resonant hollow body making for a huge, and remarkably versatile, sound despite being one of the smallest basses. The pickups are wired to independent on and off switches and volume pots making for simple yet comprehensive control of your tone.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles. The top edge demonstrates a small indentation to the treble side that has marked but not removed the finish.
Neck: Overall very good condition. The neck and fingerboard demonstrate very light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles.
Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles. Scuffing and wear to the binding is apparent at the cutaway. A small indentation is apparent to the bass side lower bout at the front face, in line with the tailpiece. This has marked but not removed the finish.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.
Hardware: Fully functional and very good condition. Light scratching and mild tarnishing is apparent to the tailpiece and pickup covers.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
