Hofner Jazzica Sunburst (Refin.) Archtop Hollow Body Electric Guitar
Here for sale we have a Hofner Jazzica Archtop Hollow Body Electric Guitar that has been refinished in Sunburst. This guitar has been restored by the previous owner to a professional level, but we have had to measure and estimate certain specifications. The Hofner Jazzica is known for its playability and modern ergonomic design. The Tapered body provides a rich resonance, whilst still retaining maximum comfortability.
 
Made in Germany, this guitar consists of a Spruce top, Flamed Maple back and sides, a Flamed Maple neck, and a 24-fret Ebony fingerboard. Other appointments include a Trapeze tailpiece, an Ebony bridge, Kluson tuners, and Gold hardware. The guitar features a floating mini humbucking pickup which is wired to pickguard-mounted volume and tone controls. 
 
The Flamed Maple neck plays well, with a profile that could be described as a substantial 'D' shape. The substantial neck profile provides a unique and characterful playing experience that is sure to inspire some fresh musical ideas. The Ebony fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with a highly practical 7.25" radius allows for smooth jazzy lines in all registers. 
 
The acoustic tone of the Hofner Jazzica is warm and gentle, delivering an understated yet detailed low end, clear mid range and bright but not brittle treble response that beautifully colours the overall sound of the instrument. The amplified tone provides a more powerful bass response, and is certainly traditional sounding for a hollow-body 'jazz box'. This is a wonderfully restored and highly playable instrument with a unique look, playing experience, and tone.

Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers.     Aesthetic Condition:

    Headstock: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates a series of vertical scratches in line with the nut slots. These continue on to the truss rod cover. Consistent ageing and checking of the finish is apparent throughout.

    Neck: Overall excellent condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates very light scratching that is visible only under direct lighting at certain angles and cannot be discerned beneath the thumb. Consistent ageing and checking of the finish is apparent throughout.

    Body: Overall very good condition, the rear face demonstrates a small chip to the finish towards the bottom edge, revealing the wood beneath. Beneath the bridge and the pickup on the front face, a moderate scratch is apparent. All aspects of the body demonstrate very light scratching and indentation visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. Consistent ageing and checking of the finish is apparent throughout.

     

    Condition of Frets:

    Though not confirmed, it appears that a recent re-fret has taken place to an exceptionally professional standard, with no chipping of the slots and well dressed fret ends. The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.

     

    Current Set Up:

    Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool ( 7mm socket) not included.

    Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. The original hardware appears to have been replaced. Originals not included. The nut has been replaced and shimmed by the previous owner.

    Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

    Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
