Here for sale we have a Guild D25-E electro-acoustic guitar in Antique Burst finish. Made in the USA in c.1998 as part of the 'True American' series, these guitars were designed to offer players professional quality USA built instruments at a more affordable price. The series was available from around '93 to '00, and featured a signature arched back design which aided projection whilst reducing the need for internal bracing.

A set-neck construction is employed and comprises a Solid Spruce top, Solid Mahogany sides, Laminated Arched Mahogany back, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double-bound in black, and features multi-stripe top purfling & matching rosette design. A set of Chrome Guild-branded sealed tuning machines are installed, along with a Fishman undersaddle peizo pickup with on-board AGP-2 preamp with controls for master volume, bass & treble.

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a rather slim 'C' shape. This offers comfortable playability in all registers & easy reach across the fingerboard. Whilst certainly on the slimmer side, the neck still provides plenty of material to sustain a firm grip when chord playing. The Rosewood of the fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, & provides a smooth & durable playing surface to explore.

The acoustic voice of the Guild True American D25-E is rich & powerful thanks to it's large stature. Of course the dreadnought body design is well known for the volume it produces, and this instrument is no exception. There is plenty of warm bass response thanks to the Mahogany back & sides, with the Solid Spruce top adding a sparkle & shine to every note played on the instrument. The arched back assists with sound projection & enhances the overall power of the instrument when playing unplugged. The on-board Fishman AGP-2 preamp faithfully conveys the acoustic voice of the instrument in any live or recording situation.
