Here for sale we have a Gretsch G5238 in Gold Sparkle. Made in China in 2005 this guitar features a set-neck construction consisting of a single-cutaway Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard with bass side half-moon inlays. Other appointments include sealed tuning machines, TOM style bridge and Gretsch tailpiece. Two Gretsch mini-humbuckers are fitted and wired to a 3-way pickup selector, Volume and Tone control.
The profile of this guitar resembles a ‘U’ profile giving the guitar a great middle ground between a chunky and thin neck profile making it perfect for chordal and lead players alike, as it caters comfortability for both playing styles. The Medium Jumbo frets enhance bends and vibrato techniques, making them easier to play with the 12" radius still giving enough comfortability for chordal fretting.
The mini-humbuckers have a punchy sound with plenty of brightness and high end presence. Due to the biting tone it is great for styles like rock or blue, cutting through with leads, however they can handle almost any style you throw at them thanks to the volume and tone controls allowing you to really personalise the tone. The neck pickup offers a slightly darker and thicker tone compared to the brighter bridge pickup which still offers plenty of warmth to each note.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall excellent condition. Light markings are present towards to top edge rear of the headstock. The front face displays light scratching which is visible under direct light, as is common with gloss finishes.
Neck: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the neck and fingerboard display light signs of past use.
Body: Overall very good condition. A moderate chip to the finish is present to the bass side lower bout edge to the rear, this has exposed the wood beneath. Light indentations are also present to the lower bout rear of the body, these have lightly pierced the lacquer finish but do not expose the wood beneath. Light scratching is present to all aspects of the body, these are visible under direct light.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. Very light denting and flattening of the frets is apparent to the early register. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss Rod Tool (4mm) not included.
Hardware: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the hardware display light signs of past use, the most visible being light scratching to the tailpiece.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
