Here for sale we have a Gretsch G5230T Electromatic Jet FT in Black finish. Built in 2022 in China this guitar features a chambered Mahogany body, a 22 fret Mahogany neck topped with a Laurel fingerboard with Neo Classic “Thumbnail” inlays. This instrument is fitted with an Anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge, Bigsby B50 tailpiece and Die-cast tuning machines. The pickups installed are a pair of Black Top Filter’Tron in the bridge and neck. These are wired to their own independent volume controls, a master volume and a master tone.
The Mahogany Neck plays very well, with its Thin ‘U’ profile filling the hand without being overly thick, this offers a balanced and smooth playing experience. The gloss finish makes for easy transitions up and down the neck. The Laurel fingerboard provides a durable playing surface while the medium jumbo frets and 12" radius provide a robust and smooth playing experience all across the fingerboard, and enhance string bending and vibrato techniques. The single cutaway body design allows the player to access the higher register with ease, allowing for fast lead lines without any obstruction.
The pair of Black Top Filter’Tron pickups sound well balanced, with plenty of warmth in the neck and ‘jangle’ in the bridge. The Chambered Mahogany body sounds loud and clear with full lows and mids with an exceptionally smooth and present high end. The body and the pickups combined produce a balanced and transparent tone. The combination of individual pickup volume controls, master tone and master volume with treble bleed circuit provides intuitive global control over your pickup and tone settings.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates light to mild scratching, most notably below the D and G winding posts. The treble side top corner demonstrates some delamination of the finish. The finish near the nut has chipped at the treble side, exposing the wood beneath. It appears that work has been carried out on the nut at some point, as there is a small amount of exposed wood at the nut shelf.
Neck: Overall very good condition. As described above, it appears that some work has been carried out on the nut at some point, as mild scratch markings are apparent to the bass side of the nut.
Body: Overall very good condition. There is a small patch of finish repair at the bass side of the fingerboard extension on the front face. This is very small, and is only visible under close scrutiny. A small indentation is apparent to the treble side lower bout, near the edge of the rear face. This has marked but not removed any of the finish.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light scratching, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.
Hardware: Very good condition. Light tarnishing is apparent to the pickup surrounds. A Vibramate Spoiler string retainer has been added by a previous owner.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
