Here for sale we have a Gretsch Electromatic CVT Double Cut electric guitar in Havana Burst finish. Made in China in 2025, this guitar is a modern reproduction of Gretsch's Corvette design, first introduced in 1961. A bolt-on construction is employed and comprises a Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Laurel fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted including an Adjustable Wraparound bridge & Die-Cast sealed tuning machines. A pair of Gretsch passive 'Twin Six' humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume & master tone controls.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the Performance 'C' profile feeling nicely slim & articulate in the hand for a smooth playing experience across the register. Whilst certainly not a thick neck, there is still plenty of substance to enable a firm grip when chord & rhythm playing. The Laurel of the fretboard is pleasant under the fingers and provides a tactile & durable playing surface to explore. With a traditional 12" radius & medium jumbo frets, the neck is well equipped for both chordal & melodic playing styles as well as smooth string bending & vibrato techniques.
Amplified, the pair of 'Twin Six' passive humbucking pickups deliver thick & full-bodied tones, perfect for a wide range of genres & tones. The neck position is warm and round, and works beautifully for melodic lead lines & solos. It can handle an impressive amount of gain for a saturated lead sound, and cleans up equally well for crystalline chordal playing. The bridge is of course brighter and a little hotter, perfect for cutting through a mix to put your rock riffing front and centre.
