Here for sale we have a Gray Guitars Admiral 50s Vintage Electric Guitar in Bashed Shell Pink Nitro finish. Made in the United Kingdom, this hand-built guitar consists of a Premier Swamp Ash body, a Master Grade Roasted, ¼ Sawn, Flame Maple neck, and a 21-fret Master Grade Roasted, ¼ Sawn, Flame Maple fingerboard. Other appointments include Aged Vintage Gotoh Staggered tuners, a Kluson Aged Vintage bridge with compensated saddles, and a set of Lindy Fralin 50s Vintage Tele pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume, master tone, and a three-way pickup selector.
The Quartersawn, Master Grade Roasted, Flame Maple neck plays well, with the 50s 'V' profile feeling substantial in the hand without being at all cumbersome. This offers a suitably vintage-inspired playing experience, accurate to the '50s T-Style specification. The oil and wax finish to the rear of the neck provides the sensation of a satin finish, making navigation of the 25.5” scale a breeze. The 7.25"-9.5" radius is very practical for both chording and lead lines and offers the best of vintage and slightly more modern playability, whilst the Medium Jumbo Stainless Steel frets offer enhanced string bending and vibrato feel.
The pair of Lindy Fralin 50s Vintage Tele Single-Coil pickups provide a rich, varied and authentically vintage set of tones. The neck pickup provides warm glassy clean sounds that are thick, smooth and pack a real punch. The middle position is slightly brighter with a detailed mid range that is a perfect blend of both positions, whilst the bridge position provides all of the brightness and spank that you would expect. The pickups handle overdrive well, with anything from crunchy blues tones to hard rock sounds well within reach, making this guitar fit into a wide range of musical styles and a perfect workhorse.
