Here for sale we have a Gordon Smith GS1 Korina Electric Guitar in Natural Satin finish. Made in the United Kingdom, this guitar consists of a Korina body, a Korina neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is equipped with a Chrome Wrap-Around bridge, a Brass nut and a set of Chrome Enclosed tuning machines. The pickup installed is a Gordon Smith humbucker which is wired to a master volume with a push/pull coil-split feature and a master tone control.
The Korina neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the profile resembling a ‘D’ profile, feeling slim in the hand, allowing for easy fretting in any register and providing ergonomic thumb positioning up and down the neck. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant to the touch, and with its 14” radius makes bending and vibrato techniques a breeze, whilst offering a nice balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for quick lead lines. The smaller, more compact size of the body makes it easier to play for extended periods of time compared to larger semi-hollow or hollow body guitars.
The single humbucker pickup installed in this guitar delivers a raw and throaty tone, with a warm low end and driving midrange that is complimented well by crisp and cutting highs. When turning the tone control down the pickup produces a roundness not dissimilar to a neck pickup which is perfect for solo tones, whilst adjusting the tone control up the brightness of the pickup will put your rhythm playing front and centre in the mix. The pickup is fantastic for pushing the front end of an amplifier, whilst offering excellent dynamic control. The simple control layout is not intrusive to the playing experience and offers comprehensive control of your tone. The push/pull coil split feature allows the player to access single-coil tones making this guitar a well rounded instrument, covering a lot of tonal possibilities.
Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.
