Here for sale we have a Gordon Smith Gatsby Electric Guitar in Rockingham Green finish. Made in the UK in 2022, this guitar consists of a Poplar body, a Maple neck, and a 22-fret Maple fingerboard. Other appointments include a Golden Age Tune-O-Matic style roller bridge, a Hosco HK41 Vibrato, Gotoh SG381 enclosed tuners, and a pair of Gordon Smith 'Homewound' Soapbar Single Coil Pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume, master tone, and a three-way pickup selector. 
 
The Maple neck is a joy to play on, with a profile which might be described as a moderately-sized 'D' shape which offers a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. Certainly, the profile is substantial enough to inspire confidence when chord playing, yet remains slim and articulate enough for lead lines and solos. The Satin finish to the rear is slightly worn and assists with smooth navigation of the 25.5" scale, whilst the offset body design and lightly sculpted heel ensure unrestricted access to the upper register. The offset body is comfortable in the arms, and with ergonomic contours in high contact areas can be played for extended periods of time without fatigue. 
 
The pair of Gordon Smith 'Homewound' P-90 pickups installed in this guitar deliver a versatile range of tones which work well in a variety of musical settings. Falling sonically somewhere between a single-coil and humbucker, the P-90 pickup can essentially be thought of as an overwound single coil. This results in shimmering clean tones that are slightly less brittle than a typical single-coil, and dirty tones that can handle a lot more gain. The P-90 in the neck provides extra clarity to your tone as it captures the nuance of your playing. The P-90 in the bridge is of course brighter, and saturates into a beautifully rich distortion tone which is perfect for dirty rhythm parts and riffs. A beautifully made and unique looking instrument with sounds to match.
