Here for sale we have a Godin LR Baggs Model Fretless Acoustibass in Black finish. Made in Canada between 1989-92, this bass consists of a Chambered Mahogany body with a Spruce top, a Maple neck, and a Fretless Ebony fingerboard. Other appointments include an Ebony bridge, Gold hardware, Gold enclosed tuners, and an LR Baggs Piezo Pickup and Preamp system. This system has controls for gain, bass, mid, and treble.
The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the ‘C’ profile feeling chunky without being cumbersome, offering a dependable grip whilst also providing a smooth and articulate playing experience, whilst the 16" fingerboard radius provides a nicely flat and consistent playing experience in any register. The chambered body is very lightweight, allowing for the resonance of the bass to shine through. Despite the low weight, the large upper horn keeps the guitar well balanced on the shoulders.
The chambered construction provides an open airiness to the sound which makes the instrument suitable for a wide range of genres whilst retaining a unique voice. This bass comes fitted with LR Baggs Piezo Pickup system with 4 simple to use on-board controls placed on the front of the bass, allowing for control of Volume and Tone. It is a great sounding system making this guitar perfect for practice or performing. These are really fun basses which look great, are very comfortable to play and produce a beautiful tone.
