Here for sale we have a Gibson Slash 'Jessica' Les Paul Standard in Honey Burst with Red Back finish. Made in the USA in 2024, this guitar is based on Slash's main stage guitar which was one of two Les Pauls Gibson sent to Slash in the late '80s. Jessica was a factory second, and was originally shipped in a Cherry Sunburst finish. Slash loved the guitar and has used it extensively on stage since he received it, even having it refinished in Honey Burst. The Gibson Slash 'Jessica' Les Paul Standard is a faithful recreation of this instrument, save for the extensive playwear that the original has acquired over its many years on the road. 
 
Naturally, a set neck construction is employed, and comprises a non weight-relieved Mahogany body with 3pc Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Indian Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a Nashville TOM bridge, StopBar tailpiece & Gibson Deluxe tuning machines with Keystone 'Tulip' buttons. A pair of Gibson Custom Burstbucker Alnico 2 humbucking pickups with double black exposed coils are installed, and are wired to the standard Les Paul controls. The wiring itself is performed by hand and includes Orange Drop capacitors. 
 
The Mahogany neck plays beautifully, with the '50s Vintage profile filling the hand comfortably for a substantial and highly characterful playing experience across the register. Certainly living up to its 'Vintage' name, the girth of the neck inspires confidence for bluesy riffs and rhythm playing whilst remaining practical for lead lines and solos. The nut width is slightly larger than the typical 1.6875" too, at 1.695". This is a subtle difference but does add to the overall vintage 'flavour' of the playing experience. Medium jumbo frets enhance the feel of vibrato and string bending techniques, whilst the Indian Rosewood fingerboard is supremely pleasant under the fingers. 
 
Amplified, the pair of Custom Burstbucker Alnico 2 humbucking pickups deliver thick, full-bodied tones, with plenty of grit and crunch for those dirty riffs and powerful lead lines. The bridge position is hot, producing a saturated and searing distortion tone that is perfectly suited to Slash style riffing. The neck pickup is rounder and warmer, and blasts your solo tones to the front of the mix with ease. The traditional Les Paul controls are as practical as ever, with the orange drop capacitors and hand-finished wiring helping them to respond well to small changes for tonal versatility while playing. Top hat not included.
