Here for sale we have a Gibson SG Standard '100' in Fireburst finish. Made in the USA in 2015, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with a Mahogany neck and 22 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is equipped with G-Force robotic tuning machines and Chrome Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece. The pickups are a pair of Gibson 57 Classic humbuckers that are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, individual volume and tone controls, with push/pulls on each volume control for coil split.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the ‘Slim Taper’ profile feeling slim in the hand, promoting ergonomic thumb position and providing an articulate playing experience. The traditional 12" fingerboard radius strikes the perfect balance between comfortable chord playing and smooth lead lines, making for a truly authentic yet refined SG playing experience, whilst the wider fingerboard and brass adjustable nut increases the playing area while still retaining the original string spacing. The addition of the G-Force robotic tuning machines ensures that tuning is fast and effortless, with alternative tunings ready to play at the touch of a button.
The pair of Gibson ‘57 Classic humbuckers in this guitar offer warm and rich tones, exactly as you would expect from an SG. The neck position is thick and creamy, saturating beautifully into full-bodied distortion as you crank the gain. The bridge position is as bright and biting as you could ever need, helping you to cut through any mix with your rock rhythm tones. The addition of individual coil splits add versatility with thinner tones on offer, providing a guitar that can cover a wide array of tonal desires. This guitar truly is a fantastic celebration of its inventor's 100th birthday.
